The Highland Breeze Bed and Breakfast is located on the Harbour Road in Pleasant Bay. According to the National Geographic Travel Magazine, the Cabot Trail was second in the world for the best place to visit in 2004. Stay in comfort and experience the tranquility and peace that only the country has to offer while enjoying the serenity of the mountains and the sea that surrounds us. Our guests meet in the dining room to enjoy a complimentary home baked evening dessert and share their exciting adventures with each other. Our Bed & Breakfast is about unique angles, beautiful trims, elegant fabrics and comfortable beds. We are happy to offer our guests a 24ft outdoor pool (seasonal) and a 6 person outdoor hot tub that are surrounded by an amazing set of custom made decks! You can look forward to a delicious home-baked breakfast that is fit for our hungry hikers or diet conscious travelers. We speak English and French but the language of good hospitality and a happy home environment is universal. If you have children and pets we may be able to accommodate. Since the chalet is often used as a place for an adult getaway we like all our guests who is staying that evening to expect children when they arrive.

Pleasant Bay - 1/2 point of the Cabot Trail

Our sea-side village remains a natural haven for exploring Cape Breton Island. We have been enticing visitors to the area since the early 1900's.

Take a walk around our harbour to watch the fisherman at work. Perhaps encounter a moose on the trail or a whale in the bay. Take in the clean salt air, or relax and watch the eagles soar along our rugged coastline.

We have everything you need: accommodations, restaurants, unique shopping and hiking. Start your experience at the Whale Interpretive Centre and then take a tour in the whale watching capital of Cape Breton.

A Highland Breeze Poem

On night so clear the stars seem less indifferent on their nameless splendor...

On nights so still even the comets seem sleepy and the bats that dart through the pines...

You can hear the deer's footsteps through the tall grass and the thistles bathing in the moonlight and the honeysuckle vines...

Now and then a dog barks, or a car passes, and its radio whines...

Here and there an odd light twinkling, in the darkness shines...

On nights so peaceful, in quiet so blissful the soul sings out loud...
